Zivame, India’s largest online lingerie retailer, has chosen WFX PLM to digitally transform its business operations.

WFX PLM, a product lifecycle management solution from WFX-World Fashion Exchange, is used by 600+ fashion companies worldwide. The software helps fashion businesses streamline design, planning and product development processes as well as improve visibility into their supply chains.

Formally named Actoserba Active Wholesale, the Bengaluru-based fashion retailer has grown by leaps and bounds since its inception and is reportedly valued at over US $ 100 million. The company was founded by Richa Kar in 2011 with the vision of ‘helping women uninhibitedly shop for intimatewear.’ Today, Zivame offers more than 5,000 styles across 50+ brands and 100+ sizes.

Apart from its well-known e-commerce site, Zivame sells its products through over 30 retail stores and 800+ partner outlets across India with plans of expansion into new markets as well. However, the speed and magnitude of growth has also made it challenging for the team to efficiently manage day-to-day operations.

With tremendous growth in the last few seasons, getting better visibility and data became all the more important for Zivame to streamline its design and production process.

As the company expanded, it found its current manual way of working through excel sheets and email-based communication an impediment to further growth. Without software intervention, the teams were prone to making errors or missing important deadlines. Meanwhile, many resources were left underutilised.

WFX is a world-leading provider of cloud-based digital software such as ERP, PLM, Virtual Showroom and more tailored for fashion businesses. This deep expertise and understanding of the fashion industry is why Zivame turned to WFX for its digital transformation journey.

As Zivame expanded its product line from bras and intimatewear to include activewear, beachwear, sleepwear, shapewear, maternitywear and accessories— it needed a solution that would consolidate data from all departments, provide real-time updates on design status, document changes made during design iterations, and many more features that would make life easier for both designers and technicians.

With WFX PLM, Zivame can integrate design, manufacturing and merchandising teams seamlessly. It wants to create an environment where everyone’s aware of what’s happening at each stage of production—so that it can access consolidated data on orders, manage reworking requests, and see what’s coming up next in its workflow—no matter where they are.

Most importantly, WFX PLM’s digital Tech Pack tools will allow Zivame to streamline design processes by integrating all design files into one place and make them easily accessible for everyone involved in the design process. This will save a significant amount of time for the team who will no longer have to search multiple locations on their computer or look through emails for individual files. They can focus on designing beautiful products instead of wasting time locating files and reworking mistakes made when sending them back and forth through email.

The team shared that since they were using excel sheets to make Tech Packs, Zivame’s biggest challenge was not being able to effectively share and communicate with its suppliers.

The centralised Tech Pack module in WFX PLM allows product teams to make edits directly on the platform to make sure that everyone (including suppliers) works off accurate and updated information. As a designer, the biggest advantage of creating a Tech Pack in WFX PLM is the ability to do sample approvals for each stage of development within the platform. It allows them to track and approve everything from prototypes, pre-production samples to production samples anytime, anywhere.

Ultimately, WFX PLM will help Zivame streamline all its design and production processes by providing a single source of truth for all information related to product development, including design data and design change requests (DCRs). The solution will also give employees access to a wide range of tools that allows them to easily store information in a centralised database, manage critical data like CAD files, material data, bills of materials and more in a search-friendly, easy-to-use system.

“Since we are an e-commerce company, we deal with a huge number of options. So, having all the stakeholders on a single platform will help us reduce lead times and approval timelines,” says Kiruba Devi, Head Category and Sourcing, Zivame.
