They're as hot as they sound. 🔥

FYI, these "Boho Torch Braids" are not your typical straight backs. I mean, would you just look at all of the geometric parting and intricate patterns involved in this look?! It's an absolute summer stunner—and perfect for anyone who wants to try a protective style with a little extra edge and personality before the summer ends. New Jersey-based hairstylist Omobolanle Ajao whipped up this fire style for today's episode of The Braid Up and we captured all the magic in the video below.

Ready to make this style your own? Just keep the four tips below in mind before you begin braiding.

1. Prep with a leave-in. After shampooing and conditioning on wash day, work a generous amount of a moisturizing leave-in conditioner through your hair. It'll make detangling and blow drying so much easier and prevent your hair from getting dried out too.

2. Oil up your scalp. That fresh-style scalp itch is real my friends. To ease any discomfort, grab some cooling peppermint oil and gently massage it into your scalp.

3. Use mousse for an instant refresh. As soon as your braids start to look a little fuzzy, just smooth a couple dollops of mousse (like the ones below) on top. It'll make your style look as good as new in legit seconds.

4. Sleep with a silk scarf. Silk headscarves and bonnets = must-haves for maintaining this style, so go ahead and stock up on some protective accessories with cool designs ASAP.
